Hillingdon’s Carer Fair is an annual event to celebrate the work of unpaid carers during National Carers week, more importantly to bring together many of the voluntary and statutory organisations in the borough that provide help, support, information and services to carers. The aim of the Carers Fair is to raise awareness of carers in the borough and to help identify those who do not recognise themselves as carers. The fair is open: 9:30-16:00 to general public It is a FREE event

This is a service of celebration being held in the parish church at Crediton, with the Bishop of Crediton, Sarah Mullaly, in attendance and delivering an address. The service is at 6.30pm. There will be a cream tea in the St Boniface Centre beforehand
Sherma's March for Carers is a fundraising event, as well as promoting Carers Week. Sherma Batson MBE was a Local and County Cllr and passed away suddenly in Jan 17 She did an immense amount of work for Carers. We are inviting anyone who can spare an hour on 17/06 to come along and join one of the relay groups. The event will last from 10am to 3pm. The first group is being led off by the Director of Social Services Iain MacBeath. Each group will do 2 laps of the lake. Our aim is to provide more day centre facilities, so that we Carers can get one thing we treasure most and that is a break. A few hours to be ourselves and not have to worry. So contact Norman Phillips and get a sponsorship form and come have and have a healthy walk.
We are honouring one of Carers who passed away in January. Henny Latheron. Besides looking after her daughter for 37 years and then cancer. Henny got involved both with Carer Groups and other activities. There will be two elements to this event. The event will run from 10>4. From 10>1 there will be mini Makeovers for Carers. Through out the event we will provide information to anyone who wants to know about Caring. We also will be letting Carers and Non Carers that volunteering has benefits for the individual.
Whether you are a carer, a professional, or just someone who wants to find out more, come along to our Open Day. Drop into Newcastle Carers Centre in Byker on Saturday 17 June between 12:00noon and 3:00pm. It is a great to chance to meet our friendly staff and volunteers! We will have free complementary therapy, refreshments, as well as a cake stand and tombola. Find out more about caring, and about the support Newcastle Carers provides. No need to book – just turn up on the day! Open to all.
This event brings together carers, researchers and interested practitioners to discuss why, in an ageing population, research about the needs of carers matters. Doors open at 10:30 with tea and coffee. Following presentations by guest speakers, those attending will have the opportunity to discuss areas for future research. Event closes at 1pm for lunch.
A FREE weekend for parents/carers of children with additional support needs to find out more about the services and provisions there is in their local area to help support. There will be workshops throughout the weekend also. Saturday will see the "Me Too!" Awards as where is the best places locally to take our children - voted for my parents and for parents.
Breathing Space: Tools for Wellbeing An opportunity to have a cup of tea and a chat about what bodywork and reflection can offer to carers. In particular, the wellbeing techniques of Japanese shiatsu massage, and linked exercises, such as Tai Chi Qi Gong; and reflective techniques in meditation and a holistic board game - the Transformation Game - can offer as a reflective focus, and springboard for managing a situation and changing it for the better.
There will be stands in the main atrium of the hospital run by charities who support Carers in Peterborough/Fenland and Lincolnshire counties. Members of the public, Patients, Carers and members of staff will have the opportunity to talk with people from several charities and receive information and advice to support them in their Caring role. Charities include: Lincolnshire Dementia Family Support, The Well Head Bourne, Carers Trust, Carers First, Family Voice and Rethink.
