YACCS is a new support group aimed at young adults (20-35) providing care for parents with terminal or life limiting illnesss. We will be meeting between 7.30pm and 9pm so come along for a coffee and chat.

Celebrate Carers Week 15 June 11:00 – 13:30 Sainsbury’s Chiswick, 31 Essex Place, London W4 5UT This is an held by Hounslow Council and NHS Hounslow CCG. The Mayor of Hounslow is expected to attend. The day includes a presentation from carers and supporting organisations, and a buffet lunch. Parking is free on site at Sainsbury’s. Carefree Chorus Concert

Starts 11am. Tickets £3.00 with refreshments included. Tickets available at the door, from Fife Carers Centre or from Choir members. The choir is made up of carers who take time out of their busy schedule and meet once a week to enjoy singing together.

Complementary Therapy Taster with Cream Tea Drop In

A drop in complementary therapy taster session at our Chester office. 10.30am-1.00pm Strawberry cream tea for each carer. Also an opportunity to come and learn more about the services and support that we can offer unpaid carers.

Camera Club

If you are a Carer and like to take a picture or two, why not come along to our Carers Camera Group. You don't need any knowledge of photography or a fancy camera to participate and benefit from this group, as it is for all, irrespective of whether you know the front of a camera from its back. If you are interested in this group they meet at The Carers Centre, 1 Duke Street, Fenton on Wednesday 14th June 10.00 am - 12 noon, no need to book just bob into the Centre.

Humphries Kirk Crewkerne Office Carer's Week Discount and Advice

Humphries Kirk’s Crewkerne office appreciate the difficulties carers face and are keen to support local carers this Carers Week. Humphries Kirk’s Crewkerne office can assist by offering a £50 discount on the preparation of Lasting Powers of Attorney and £100 on the preparation of your Will together with Lasting Powers of Attorney. In addition we would be pleased to offer carers a free half hour appointment to discuss any challenges you are facing in your role as a carer. Kinship Carers Celebration Day (Newcastle)

This is a free celebration event for kinship carers, promoting the important role they play within the wider family. We have a variety of market stall holders giving out relevant information which may support kinship carers and their families. All kinship carers welcome - Tuesday 13 June - 10am - 1pm: light lunch provided.

North Staffs Carers Association will be attending the Carers Marketplace in the Kings Hall at Stoke on Thursday 15th June 2017 from 10:30 - 16:30. The event will include information, stalls and demonstrations by a wide range of local organisations, the event is open to Carers, professionals and anyone who would like to know more about how they can support Carers. Please pop along to our stand and have a chat to one of our support workers, you will be surprised what help is available.

Fish N Chip Club

As part of our celebrations for Carers Week we will be running our popular Fish N Chip Club on Friday 16th June, 11.00 am - 1.00pm at the Carers Centre, 1 Duke Street, Fenton, Stoke-on-Trent. There is a small charge of £2.50 which pays for the fish n chips. If your in a caring role and would like a break and a chance to meet with other Carers please drop in to this popular group.

Chesterton Carers Group

Are you an informal Carer who supports a family member, friend or neighbour. If so, come and join us for a light-hearted couple of hours with or without the person you care for. We provide the opportunity for you both to enjoy yourself, chat to other Carers, join in activities, or speak to support staff about the difficulties you may have in your caring role. No booking is required, just come along as everyone is welcome! Refreshments are available. The group meets between 1.00 pm and 3.00 pm at The Surgery, Heathcote Street, Chesterton.

Coffee morning

The Royal British Legion will be holding a coffee morning in our Swindon Pop In on Friday 16th June, from 11am – 1pm, to mark this. Royal British Legion staff and volunteers will be able to talk about the different forms of help that we can provide to carers. The coffee morning will provide an opportunity to talk to our specialist team of Independent Living Advisors, who can offer a variety of services to help the Veteran community to access the support that they need to continue to live independently with equal choices and freedoms. The coffee morning will coincide with our regular ‘Knit and Natter’ group, which meets on the first and third Friday mornings of each month, from 11am – 1pm, so there will be an opportunity to talk to our knitters, who are busy knitting poppies for this year’s Poppy Appeal, too.

This is a fundraising event. We are holding a cake sale to raise money to pay for our carers to have afternoon tea organised locally.
