Come along to the Citizens Advice Bureau in Spennymoor to speak to Carer Support Benefit Development Worker Sam Stimpson and a representative from Durham Welfare Rights Service. We are working in partnership across the County to improve the recognition and support for Carers and ensure they can access quality benefit advice local to them.

Free One to One Support Sessions for Carers

Book a free 30 minute supportive telephone consultation to confidentially discuss the emotional impact of your role as a Carer and learn tips on how to cope with uncertainty. Daytime and evening appointments are available. Chloë is a qualified & BACP Registered Counsellor and has over 15 years professional experience of therapeutically supporting children and adults through uncertainty. She works with Carers who are affected by the ambiguous loss of a loved one who may be physically present but psychologically absent, for example with a life-limiting illness, dementia, stroke or brain injury. Carers Coffee Morning to raise awarness to Carers. Time 9am - 12am at Highthorn Road surgery, Highthorn Road, Kilnhurst - No booking required - drop in session. Representative from Crossroads Rotherham will be available on the day for advice.

Newcastle Carers Centre is having an open day 12-3 for anyone who would like to know more about our services to pop down and share some tea and cake, talk to our information and advice workers, have some fun with a tombola, quizzes and games, and celebrate carers week with us.

We will be displaying all the carers information and also discussing raising awareness at our staff training session on Tues 13th June.

Carers Tea Party

The event time is 1.00pm-4.00pm and entrance to carers is free with a £5.00 entrance fee for non-carers. Tea and cake and live entertainment is included in the price of the ticket. Sandwiches will be available to purchase on the day. On offer will be free reiki and reflexology appointments to be booked on the day along with yoga sessions.
