CASS Carers Cafe

CASS The Carers Association and Age UK South Staffordshire welcome Carers of all condition to join them at their Carers Café on Monday 12th June between 10:30am and 1pm. Carers who support someone with any condition are most welcome to socialise, gain free information and advice and enjoy entertainment surrounded by their peers. Living Well with Dementia

Carers and their loved ones, who are living with Dementia, are welcome to join CASS The Carers Association at their Living Well with Dementia group. The group meets between 11am and 1pm at The Scout Hut, Ironstone Road, Chase Terrace, Burntwood WS7 1LL. Carers are invited to come and socialise with their peers who are in similar circumstances in a safe environment with their loved one. CASS provides health and wellbeing information and guidance balanced with entertainment for you to enjoy. This is a brilliant opportunity to meet others who are also supporting or have supported someone with dementia. A light buffet styled lunch will be served during the group along with tea and coffee. We would love to see as many Carers uniting at our group so please feel free to come along! If you would like more information please call CASS on 01785 222365.

Calderdale Carers with Making Space will be offering complimentary treatments from 10am to 2pm for carers registered with ourselves including: shoulder/neck massage, reflexology, Indian head massage, henna hand painting, face painting for children, info & professionals from other organisations and refreshments. BOOKING BY 7 JUNE ESSENTIAL as places are limited.

Carers Forum

Please come along to our Carers’ Forum where we will have guest speakers, refreshments and an opportunity to chat with fellow carers and experts. An adviser from Pictons Solicitors will be speaking on wills, power of attorney and other legal concerns that carers may have. We will also have a social worker from the L&D Hospital discharge team explaining the process for discharge of patients from hospital. The event starts at 10am and finishes at 2pm. We also have a special guest who will have a treat for carers with a relaxing mindfulness session to round up the day from 2.15-3pm.

River Nairn Walk with the Nairn Carer Support Group. Meet at the Nairn Dunbar Golf Clun 13.00 hrs for a walk along the banks of the beautiful River Nairn. The walk wil be followed by coffee & cake at the Clubhouse. Everyone welcome.

To celebrate carers week we will have an information stand in the main hospital foyer all week; information will be available throughout the week, but if you would like to speak to somebody staff from the hospital and Suffolk Family Carers will be available Monday morning, and Friday 10:00 - 14:00 to discuss any issues and signpost to support.

Drop in information/Demonstration sessions for Jointly App by Carers UK Tuesday 13th June 2pm - 4.30pm Jointly is an app that makes caring for someone a little easier, less stressful and a lot more organised by making communication and coordination between those who share the care as easy as a text message.
