Mental Health Carers Celebration

Do you have a caring role for someone with Mental Illness? Please join us for our Mental Health Carers Celebration Event as part of Carers Week 2017. The event will run from 12pm to 2pm. Refreshments will be provided. This is a joint collaboration between North Derbyshire Mental Health Carers Forum, Buxton Stress Busters, The Grapevine Wellbeing Centre and High Peak Carers Champion (DHCFT NHS).

Charity Open day & BBQ

This event is an open day and BBQ, at a new, local care home, which has agreed to sponsor The League of Friends for the John Taylor Hospice throughout 2017 / 18. The event will take place from 12:30 pm.

The Strawberry Tea is for day patients and carers visiting the "Heart of the Hospice" Day Unit. It will be held at approx. 2pm on each of the 3 days. Funded by the League of Friends for John Taylor Hospice.

Student Carers Policy Launch

Glasgow Caledonian University is launching a new Carers Policy with support from Carers Trust Scotland, and local MSP Sandra White. We have invited student carers to attend and get a chance to chat with Sandra White and staff from across the University.

Carers with Sainsburys Chiswick

In partnership with Sainsbury's Chsiwick, Hounslow CCG is celebrating Carers Week on the 15th June 11:00 – 13:30 at: Sainsbury’s Chiswick, 31 Essex Place, London W4 5UT This is an event for all carers in the borough of Hounslow to celebrate the work they do in supporting relatives and friends who are often under acknowledged. Come and listen to a presentation from carers and the organisations supporting them in Hounslow. Parking is free on site at Sainsbury’s and there will be a free buffet lunch.

Dazzle on Tour - The Carers Hub

We will be taking our Carers Hub mascot Dazzle on Tour in Tunstall, Stoke City Centre, Fenton, Longton, Hanley and Burslem. We will be out and about in all these locations between 10am and 5pm. Come and say Hi and find out about how we support Carers across Staffordshire.

West Norfolk Carers works in Partnership will all Doctors Surgeries in West Norfolk to offer a service to Family Carers. During Carers Week we will be in a number of surgeries across the area offering tea, coffee, scone and information about our services. Move to the Beat for Carers Week

For carers and non-carers, old and young… shake off your troubles and have some fun! An evening of drumming, music and circus skills – 5-7pm. This event will be a chance for you to: - Find out more about the experiences of young carers and what SYC can offer to help - Help make Sheffield a carer-friendly city - Add your pledge to our giant pledge wall - Go on a campus tour of Sheffield Hallam University - Drum, juggle or just watch and have fun! No need to book – just hit the street and move to the beat!! In partnership with Sheffield Hallam University and Sheffield Carers Centre.

A wonderful programme of four local choirs sing for carers in the Cabot Circus Shopping Centre. The line up includes South Glos Carers Choir. Come and enjoy a singing celebration in support of carers and take time to also enjoy the many shops and cafes.

Car parking: You are advised not to try and park on campus as parking is extremely limited. The second attached maps at the bottom of this page will give you a better indication of where the nearest public car parks are. St Marks - LN5 7EX, High St - LN5 7BJ and Lucy Tower St - LN1 1XL are probably the closest to the venue Should you require parking closer to the venue please do get in contact and we will try and accommodate people on a case by case basis. Carers Support Group

Our Carer Support Group meets every Monday at the Carers Centre, the group is self facilitated and gives Carers the chance to have a break from their caring role and offers the opportunity to meet other Carers and obtain support and advice. The group runs from 10.00 am - 12 noon.
