We pledge to raise awareness of the cause of unpaid carers and encourage the local and wider community to recognise and support the work done by carers. We will also encourage and promote an understanding of what is is to be a carer and why being an unpaid carer deserves local and national recognition.

To promote the rights of carers.

We will organise a series of events in the county, in partnership with Carmarthenshire Carers Forum and the Carers Support Services Network to identify carers in the community, providing them with information, advice and support to help them in their caring role.

We pledge to raise awareness of carers in all areas of our community, including in health and social services. We pledge to offer information, support and a listening ear to carers and to provide services that will help carers continue caring and be fully integrated into their local community, avoiding loneliness and isolation.

The My Time team will reach out to more young carers to give them more 'me' time and fun. We will continue to talk to local groups and professionals to raise awareness of the stressful lives that young carers lead. Our volunteers give their time as drivers, club helpers, trustees and caterers; local groups and individuals fund our activities. These people at the heart of our community make My Time activities possible and we will ensure that this support is not only appreciated, but respected and never taken for granted. We will encourage more people to give their time to My Time so that young carers have more opportunities to be care free.

We will try to contact more carers by posting info on our display board, tv visual display unit, website and on every door in the practice. Staff will also be alerted.

Identify and support carers.

To provide information for Carers in our community.

To increase awareness of the organisation and the other organisations in the area who support and help parents / carers of children with disabilities or additional needs.
