The Homecare People pledge to support and listen to our carers and help and guide them with continual development. We pledge to work with our carers to make sure they have all the training they need to be able to provide care of the highest standard. We pledge to get involved and raise awareness in our local area of the work that is done by care staff and to improve the levels of recognition for carers. We are also pledging to support Carers Week 2017.

Virgin Care's Carers Club website and blog will carry carer stories all week along with the announcement of special deals and discounts for carers. We are asking our staff and services to make positive pledges for unpaid carers and have launched a new pledge card, poster and fact file. We already have a "Time to Care" strategy in place. We encourage unpaid carers to feedback their experiences of healthcare services via our survey. http://carersclub.org http://surveys.virgincare.co.uk/s/CarersClub/

Longbarn Lane Surgery is committed to supporting carers, and are celebrating the Carers Week Campaign.

From 09:00 - 13:00 on we will be hosting a free coffee morning at our office. Open to all our current staff and clients as well as prospective staff and clients. We would also like to invite anyone who may need domiciliary care assistance for themselves, or a relative and anyone interested in care! This event is to honor all the hard work of heath care assistants and support workers.

Recognising the importance of the effort people put in on a daily basis for those less able is so important. The kindness and compassion that entails should be acknowledged, commended and celebrated.
