POSCH Carers Event 2019

POSCH would like to celebrate all our parent carers members who do a fantastic job supporting their children with additional needs or disabilities. A little ‘me time’ is what we all need recharge our batteries and ‘switch off’ even if it is just for a few hours. So join us at Bedale Hall between 10am and 1pm and you will feel refreshed afterwards. You can have your hair or nails done or join in with some relaxing meditation. Or just come along for a chat and a bite to eat.

'Strong' Single Launch Party

This event free event (no pre-booking required) will be the official 'Strong' single release party including the choir (Off Duty) performing to the public for the very first time and also the first public performance of the song they wrote with MD Izzy Thomas all about being a carer. The single is available for download right now with all proceeds going to Carers UK. Get it now from: The event will also be the culmination of a week long mini media campaign with Carers UK with members of the choir telling their stories and the release of the World War II themed music video for 'Strong' even including an American Jeep! The 'Strong' Single Release Party is part of an annual event called Wartime Bridgend where the choir wants to encourage all to learn and sing along ‘Strong’ as the ‘sing along’ version will be on their website being , but also they should know the three other well known war time songs in their set namely ‘We’ll Meet Again’, ‘The Lambeth Walk’ and ‘Pack Up Your Troubles’. The ‘sing along’ performance starts 1:30pm introduced by the mayor of Bridgend Town Council Cllr. Alan Wathan.

When I'm Gone: Supporting carers and their families to plan for the future

On Wednesday 12th June, as part of Carers Week, Sense will be at Touchbase Pears promoting their When I’m Gone resource “Decisions to Make, Steps to Take”. A toolkit designed to make planning for future care more straightforward and less daunting, “Decisions to Make, Steps to Take” is available for anyone caring for a loved one and thinking about the future. We’ll have an information stand at Touchbase Pears from 10:30 to 13:00. Please come along to see the information we have available for you.

No matter how big or small your event is, your activity will make a difference to carers in your local area.  Your event could be an information stand in your local hospital or it could be the launch of a new charter for carers in your workplace, or even a coffee morning with the local carers' association. Every activity counts!
