We are delighted to announce that Caroline Lucas MP, the Member of Parliament for Brighton Pavilion, has agreed to be the Green Party’s Parliamentary Champion for Carers Week 2022. Responding to the announcement, Caroline said:
I’m always in awe of carers’ unwavering commitment and dedication to what they do. But they don’t receive the recognition and remuneration they deserve. There are still millions of carers in the UK who are either unpaid, or aren’t paid the living wage – and much of their work goes unnoticed. How can carers look after others, if they aren’t paid enough to look after themselves?
