We are delighted to announce that Sally-Ann Hart MP, the Member of Parliament for Hastings and Rye, has agreed to be a Conservative Party Parliamentary Champion for Carers Week 2023.
Responding to the announcement, Sally-Ann Hart MP said:
“I am supporting unpaid carers this Carers Week as I want to raise awareness of the amazing contribution they make to our country. Unpaid carers are unsung heroes and play a vital role in our society from providing essential support to individuals in need, to reducing strain on health services. I genuinely do not know where we would be without them. However, we must do more for unpaid carers, particularly those who are children or are elderly. Unpaid carers need to be better identified so we can give them the support that they need and allow them to live their lives as comfortably as possible. I hope this Carers Week we can raise awareness of these fantastic people and help more who do not think of themselves as having caring responsibilities to identify as carers and access much-needed support.”
